Proper double-entry books, without the clean-up.

Full Mode gives you the chart of accounts, journals and trial balance. Your client works in Easy Mode on the same ledger, so the data arrives already structured and traceable.

One ledger, two views. Switching never changes data.

Efficiency comes from better inputs.

Most of your time on a client goes to chasing, sorting and fixing what arrived. Faas improves the input: documents are scanned and attached, bank lines are suggested, and every entry carries its source. You get to the judgement work sooner.

A client month, before and after

Without a shared ledger

  • Receipts arrive as photos in a chat, a few weeks late
  • A bank statement and a spreadsheet to match by hand
  • No way to see who changed what
  • Year end means rebuilding the story from scratch

With Faas

  • Receipts are scanned into an inbox with the original attached
  • Bank lines are matched with a confidence score, unclear ones suggested
  • The audit log shows every posting and edit
  • Periods are locked as you go, and the Audit Pack is one click
Full Mode

All the depth you expect.

Full Mode is the complete set of books: sales, purchases, bank, contacts, products, journals, contras, opening balances, the chart of accounts and the reports you rely on. Easy Mode is a simpler view of the same ledger.

  • Chart of accounts, journals and contras
  • Trial balance, general ledger, cash flow and ageing
  • Control panel for users, roles, financial year and integrations

Period locking

Lock the month. Correct with a dated journal.

Once a period is reviewed, lock it. Nobody can quietly change the figures underneath you. If a mistake turns up later, you post a dated reversing journal in the open period, so the correction is visible and explained.

  • Lock by period, with the lock recorded in the audit log
  • Corrections are journals, not edits
  • Clients see the locked status in plain words

Clients on Easy Mode

Work with clients who never learn accounting.

Your client sees profit, who owes them and what they owe. You see debits, credits and codes. They record a payment in one tap, and Faas posts the balanced journal for you. Nobody needs to translate.

  • Easy Mode hides journals and account codes from the client
  • Faas posts the double-entry for you
  • You review the same data in Full Mode, any time

Working together

A conversation, not a hand-off.

When both sides look at the same books, the questions get shorter. You can point at an entry and the client can see the document behind it.

  • One place for the invoice, the receipt and the bank line
  • Fewer "which file is the latest?" messages
  • Time freed for advice the client will actually value

Three terms, in words your client will keep.

Use these when your client asks why something is locked, or why the numbers must match.

The term

Trial balance

A list of every account with its total.

Plain wordsA check that the books add up: debits equal credits.
Debits: Bank RM 5,000.00 + Rent RM 1,000.00 = RM 6,000.00. Credits: Sales RM 4,000.00 + Owner capital RM 2,000.00 = RM 6,000.00. Balanced.
The term

Period locking

Closing a month so it cannot be edited.

Plain wordsOnce a month is checked, the numbers stop moving.
September is locked. A rent bill found later is fixed with a journal dated in October.
The term

Audit trail

The record of who did what, and when.

Plain wordsA history of every posting and edit that cannot be rewritten.
Siti posted journal JV-0091 on 12 Oct at 10:42. The log keeps that line for good.

Questions from accountants

Does Faas keep proper double-entry records?
Yes. Every action in Easy Mode posts a balanced journal underneath. In Full Mode you can see the journals, the chart of accounts and the trial balance.
Can I correct a mistake in a locked period?
Corrections are made with dated reversing journals in an open period. The lock and the correction both appear in the audit log.
What is in the Audit Pack?
The trial balance, general ledger, profit and loss, balance sheet, journals with source references, bank reconciliations, ageing, the fixed asset schedule, a tax summary and the supporting documents.
Can an auditor look without changing anything?
Yes. Auditors can be given read-only access, so they can inspect the books and documents without any ability to edit.
Does it handle multiple currencies or fixed asset depth?
Those are planned for later phases. Check the features page for what is available today.
