Terms of service

In force from 4 October 2026.

Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using Faas, you agree to these terms. If you use Faas on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are allowed to accept the terms for that business.

The service

Faas is accounting software for businesses in Malaysia. It helps you record sales, spending and bank activity, and prepare reports. Features that are marked as planned are not part of the service until they are released.

Accounts

You must give accurate details when you sign up. You are responsible for activity under your account and for deciding who you invite and what each person is allowed to do. Tell us promptly if you think someone has used your account without permission.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Faas for anything unlawful, or to record fictitious or misleading transactions
  • try to break, probe or overload the service
  • share access in a way that goes beyond the plan you chose
  • upload content you have no right to use

Free trial

New accounts start with a 30-day free trial of the plan chosen at sign up. Nothing is paid to start. We email you 10, 3 and 1 days before the trial ends. To continue after the trial, pay for your plan in Billing; nothing is charged before the trial ends, and a payment made early starts the paid period on the day the trial ends. If the first invoice is still unpaid 7 days after the trial ends, the account moves to Start, the free plan: nothing is deleted, and features Start does not include become read-only, so you can still view and export those records.

The free Start plan

Start is free of charge, with the features and monthly limits shown on the pricing page. We may change what Start includes or its limits, and will tell you at least 30 days before. Documents and pay pages sent from an account on Start show a short "Sent with Faas" line. Start does not include add-on packs.

Fees and billing

Paid plans are described on the pricing page, in Malaysian Ringgit, billed monthly or yearly in advance. Each period is one invoice, paid through CHIP, our payment processor, with FPX online banking, a card, an e-wallet or DuitNow QR. We email you the invoice with a link to pay about 7 days before a monthly period ends and about 30 days before a yearly one, and remind you until it is paid. Your card and bank details are held by CHIP and your bank, not by us. Where automatic renewal with a saved card is offered in Billing and you switch it on, we charge that card for each renewal on the day it is due; you can remove the card at any time. Prices exclude SST; when SST applies, it is added to the invoice. Receipt and bill scans, AI bank reconciliation runs, emailed documents and, on Start, invoices and file storage have a monthly limit per organisation, shown on the pricing page and in Billing. On a paid plan you may add scan and email packs and extra organisations in Billing; they are added to your next invoice, and the part of the current period left is charged with it. Yearly billing is charged at 10 months of the monthly price. Every payment has an invoice and a receipt in Billing. If a renewal invoice is unpaid when the period ends, the account keeps working for 7 days; if it is still unpaid then, the account moves to Start, the free plan, and nothing is deleted. Moving to a better plan takes effect at once and you pay the difference for the days left in the period; moving to a lower plan, or between monthly and yearly billing, takes effect from your next period. You can cancel the renewal at any time in Billing: the account stays fully active until the end of the period already paid, you are not invoiced again, and then the account carries on free on Start with its data kept (features Start does not include become read-only). We do not refund part periods. We will tell you at least 30 days before any change to prices takes effect.

Your data

The records you put into Faas belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them so that we can provide the service. How we handle personal data is explained in the Privacy notice. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for keeping the records you are required to keep.

No legal or tax advice

Faas and its guides give general education and tools. They do not give legal, tax or accounting advice. Talk to a qualified professional about your situation.

Rules changeRules change. Confirm current rates and dates with the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, LHDN or your accountant.

Availability and support

We work to keep Faas available and will give notice of planned maintenance where we can. We cannot promise the service will always be uninterrupted. Support is available through the help centre and the contact page.

Liability

To the extent allowed by law, Faas is provided as it is. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit, lost revenue or penalties arising from figures you file. Our total liability to you for any claim linked to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Malaysian law.

Ending your account

You can stop using Faas at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or stays unpaid. You can export your records (reports, ledgers and documents in PDF or CSV) at any time, including while an account is read-only. After an account is closed, we keep its data for 90 days so it can be reopened or exported, then delete it. Copies in our encrypted backups expire within a further 60 days.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you before it applies. If you keep using Faas after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Malaysia.
