Features/How Faas works

Accounting software that does the boring parts for you.

Faas does three jobs for a business owner. It gets you paid, it keeps track of what you spend, and it shows you where you stand. Here is how each one works, in plain words.

No accounting knowledge needed to start.

Most owners do not need more accounting. They need less of it.

You started a business to sell something, not to learn debits and credits. Faas takes the data entry off your plate, keeps proper books in the background, and asks you simple questions only when it needs you.

The big picture

Three jobs. One set of books.

Everything in Faas is one of these three jobs. Each one feeds the same ledger, so the numbers always agree.

1

Get paid

Send an invoice with a payment term, share a pay link, and let reminders do the chasing. When money arrives, the invoice marks itself paid.

2

Keep track of what you spend

Snap a receipt or a supplier bill. Faas reads it and asks one question: have you paid this yet? Paid goes to receipts, unpaid goes to bills to pay.

3

Know where you stand

Faas matches your bank statement to your invoices and bills, then shows profit, who owes you and what you owe. Your accountant can audit all of it.

It all joins up

Every job feeds the same books.

A customer pays an invoice. The bank shows the money. Faas links the two, updates what the customer owes and moves your profit. You are only asked to say Yes or No when something is unclear.

  • One ledger behind every screen
  • Faas does the matching, you confirm
  • Nothing is typed twice

Accounting in plain words

Three accounting words, explained once.

You will see these in any accounting app. Here is what they mean, so nothing feels like a secret code.

The term

Double-entry bookkeeping

The method every proper accounting system uses.

Plain wordsEvery money event is written twice: where the money came from, and where it went.
You sell RM 500.00 of goods for cash. Your bank goes up RM 500.00 and your sales go up RM 500.00.
The term

Ledger

The master record of your business money.

Plain wordsOne complete list of everything that has happened with money, kept in order.
Every invoice, bill, payment and receipt you add becomes a line in the ledger.
The term

Reconciliation

Checking your books against your bank.

Plain wordsMaking sure what you recorded agrees with what the bank says.
Your books say RM 12,450.00 in the bank. The statement says RM 12,450.00. They agree, so the books are right.

A normal month, before and after.

Without Faas

  • Receipts in a bag, bills in WhatsApp, invoices in a spreadsheet
  • You scroll the bank app to find out who has paid
  • Month end means a weekend of catching up
  • You are not sure if the business made money until the accountant tells you

With Faas

  • One place for invoices, receipts and bills
  • Payments match to invoices as they arrive
  • The bank review takes minutes, a few taps at a time
  • Profit and who owes you are on the home screen any day
Your accountant

Your accountant sees the same books you do.

Invite your accountant in one tap. They work in the same account, so there is nothing to export and email back. They see every entry traced to the document it came from.

  • One account, two views of the same data
  • Every entry links to its original document
  • Read-only access for an auditor

A note on tax and e-Invoice

Faas can connect to LHDN MyInvois for e-Invoice and keep a tax summary ready for SST. Those parts stay hidden in Easy Mode until you tell Faas your business is tax registered.

Questions about how Faas works

Do I need to know accounting to use Faas?
No. Easy Mode uses plain words like money in, money out and profit. Faas writes the double-entry records in the background and explains any accounting term the first time you meet it.
What is the difference between Easy Mode and Full Mode?
They are two views of the same books. Easy Mode hides journals, account codes and other accountant tools. Full Mode shows them. Switching never changes your data.
Can my accountant use the same account?
Yes. Invite them from Settings. They get Full Mode on the same books, so you do not export files or email spreadsheets back and forth.
Does Faas do payroll?
No. Faas covers invoices, bills, receipts, bank matching, reports and audit. Payroll is not part of it.
Does Faas handle foreign currency?
Multi-currency is planned for a later phase. Today Faas is built around Malaysian Ringgit.
Where do I start?
Most owners start with one of three things: send an invoice, scan a receipt or upload a bank statement. Each takes a few minutes and shows the whole idea.
